Over 40,000 observers to monitor Kurdistan Region Parliament Elections

The international monitoring contingent consists of 1,655 observers representing 14 consulates and 14 international organizations. Furthermore, 20 media outlets have been accredited to cover the electoral proceedings.

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – The Independent High Electoral Commission of Iraq (IHEC) has released comprehensive figures detailing the distribution of party representatives and observers for the upcoming sixth Kurdistan Parliament elections, encompassing both special and general voting phases across all four electoral districts.

According to the official statement, a total of 35,072 political party representatives will monitor the electoral process. The breakdown by province shows 2,811 representatives from 12 parties in Erbil, 23,813 representatives from 15 parties in Sulaimani, 8,183 representatives from 17 parties in Duhok, and 265 representatives from two parties in Halabja.

Additionally, 5,274 domestic observers from various civil society organizations will participate in the monitoring process. These include 1,754 observers from 26 organizations in Erbil, 644 observers from 11 organizations in Sulaimani, and 2,876 observers from 28 organizations in Duhok.
