PM Masrour Barzani extended condolences message to Joyce Blau's family, friends
The Premier extended compliments about Ms. Joyce Blau as a loyal friend of the Kurdistan people who through her work, researches and publications, served the Kurdish language, literature and culture.
ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – Joyce as described by the Kurdistan Region Government, a staunch defender of Kurdish cause, was born on May 18th, 1932 in Cairo, Egypt.
She was a linguist, writer and expert in Kurdish language and literature, as well as the founder of the Kurdish Institute in Paris.
The Kurdistan Regional Government’s Prime Minister, Masrour Barzani sent out a condoling letter to her family and friends.
Text of the condolence letter by the Premier:
“Upon Joyce Blau deceased, the linguist, author, expert in Kurdish language and literature, also founder of the Kurdish Institute in Paris, I extend my deepest condolences to the family, relatives, friends and acquaintances of Professor Joyce Bleu.
Ms. Joyce Blau was a loyal friend to the Kurdistan people, who through her work, researches and publications, served the Kurdish language, literature and culture.
May Almighty God grant her the Paradise, and the peace and endurance to all.

Joyce Blau was born on March 18th,1932 in Cairo, Egypt, and passed away on October 24th, 2024, in France, she was a specialist in Kurdish language and literature, had numerous studies on the language, literature and civilization of the Kurds.
On Friday (May 12, 2023), in the honor of the struggle and support for the Kurdish cause, the library of Joyce Blau, the founder of the Kurdish Institute in France, was opened in Erbil Castle.
Branches of the library are located in Beirut, Lebanon, Damascus, and Amman, in the honor of Joyce Blau.
The former French Consul General in Erbil, Olivier Decottignies posted a sad and praise message through his X account regarding Joyce Blau.

The Kurdistan Region President posted a message through HE's X platform account, praising Prof. Joyce "she will remain in our thoughts forever"
