U.S. supports fast formation of Kurdish inclusive, responsive government
Despite of the fact of having technical problems, but the positive roles were pointed out reading the successful process of election in the region.
ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – The Barzani Headquarter announced that on Monday, the US Ambassador to Iraq, Alina Romanowski accompanied by the US Consul General in Erbil, Steve Bitner were welcomed by the Kurdistan Democratic Part (KDP)’s President Barzani. in Salahaddin.
The delegates congratulated President Barzani on the success of the Kurdistan parliamentary elections. As well as stressed that running the whole process of the parliamentary general election in a democratic and peaceful atmosphere, especially at a difficult time that the whole region is going through, that showed a worthy figure of the Kurdistan Region to all.
President Barzani lauded the international community and the High Election Commission for their role to succeed the parliamentary general election in Kurdistan Region.

In another part of the meeting, the steps to form the new government and negotiations between the parties were discussed.
According to the announcement, President Barzani stated “KDP has arranged a team to discuss the formation of the government and its agenda with other parties”
“As well as KDP wouldn’t use veto against any parties” highlighted by President Barzani.
The attendees also discussed the political and security situation in the region and the latest tensions in the Middle East, they exchanged views on the political process in Iraq and the election of the new speaker of the Iraqi parliament too.
Romanowski posted a message through her X platform account, expressing her delightful feeling about the meeting with President Barzani, discussing new government formation and reaffirming U.S. mission to work with their partners in the KRG to promote a secure, stable, and sovereign Iraq.
