Kurdistan 24 is in Damascus International Airport

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – The Kurdistan 24 correspondent made an interview with a number of seniors at the Damascus International Airport, on Wednesday.
The seniors and supervisors at the airport affirmed the domestic flight from Damascus International Airport to Aleppo took place today, according to their statements it's been the first domestic flight since ousting Bashar al-Assad regime in the entire country on December 8th, 2024.
Aleppo airport was closed down for many years by a decision from the former Syrian president Bashar al-Assad, "due to the war and conflicts in that area where Aleppo locates, also the military operations in the whole country" One of the supervisors, Saad said.
However, according to the sources, the Aleppo airport used to be operated only for military services by the Russian troops.
Staff members, team leaders and mangers expressed their delightful feelings about reopening the airport as well as resuming the flight services, considered that step as "bringing life to both the airport and services to passengers", they also confirmed operations, and necessary maintenance have been activated and will continue in all of the services and departments at the airport.
"Now the airport is ready, but there are still some technical, professional checking and technical criteria to take on, we need to sort them out as soon as possible to serve the Syrian people, our aim is to resume with international flights worldwide," Saad further added.
Earlier in the week, The Syrian Airlines Maintenance Manager announced to the media outlets that the international flights will follow domestic ones, after checking all the systems and departments at the Damascus' international airport.
