ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – The US-Led Coalition Forces consistently supported and played significant role for Peshmerga in Kurdistan Region, in different areas, for example providing trainings, coursework, workshops and supplying Peshmerga with necessary tools.
The Program on Terrorism and Security Studies (PTSS) is one of trainings provided by the coalitions, in which Colonel Dana Ahmed from the Ministry of Peshmerga was selected to participate in the program, on behalf of all the military and security establishments in Iraq and Kurdistan Region.
"The course is for three weeks, the importance and distinctive feature of the program is that many skillful representatives from different countries participate in PTSS, to strengthen the security capabilities" Col. Ahmed said.
"It is an annual training, aims to develop and enhance the capacity of the military and security to combat terrorism, this year, 93 people from 64 countries participated in the program," He further added “the Iraqi government was given a seat to participate in the program, but Baghdad gave the right to participate to the KRG's Peshmerga Ministry, and I have participated on ministry's behalf”
According to the Marshall Center, which is a partnership center between the USA and German, the course aims to make and enhance a global network of counterterror (CT) professionals and experts to fight against transnational terrorism and violent extremist organisations (VEO), as well as strengthening relationships and partnerships between governments and communities in security related matters.

Among many progress peshmerga constantly take on, a number of officers and peshmerga from different units of the Ministry of Peshmerga Affairs (MoPA) successfully completed their training at the USA Consulate General in Erbil, on December 19th, 2024.

On December 12th, 2024, an advanced course about the strategic military leadership organized and provided by the UK National Defence Academy at the UK Consulate General in Erbil, in Kurdistan Region.

One of other remarkable and prominent services provided as well as supervised by the German coalition beside building a central hospital for Peshmerga, is they supplied medical apparatuses, instruments and also closely monitor the hospital.
Paying a monthly visit to the Peshmerga Hospital, German delegation's latest collaboration welcomed by the hospital Manager Colonel Ayub Ahmed, accompanied by the Deputy Manager and Administrative Director of the hospital, on Tuesday, December 10th, 2024.
In that visit, the delegation highly valued the role that the staff and workers play in Peshmerga Hospital by providing medical care to the Peshmerga and families of the martyrs.
Upon the same visit, the delegation visited the medical surgery department at the hospital and "expressed their instant response for any needs to further improve the department and other related sections in the hospital" The manager said.



Another latest assistant Peshmerga forces received is building the Military Medical Paramedic School with the help of US forces, in Erbil, the official opening ceremony took place on Monday, December 9th, where KRG Minister of Peshmerga Affairs, Minister of Health, MoPA Chief of Staff and the U.S. Consul General attended.


The coalition forces reaffirmed their support towards reform plan, strengthen the structure of the Peshmerga, bringing all units under a unified command within the Ministry.
