Kurdistan Region President condemns attack in Germany's Magdeburg

He reiterated the Kurdistan Region’s solidarity with the government and people of Germany, stating “Our hearts and thoughts are with the families of the victims, and we wish the injured a swift recovery."

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) - On Saturday, Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani posted a condolence message on X social media platform, strongly condemning " last night’s barbaric attack on a Christmas market in Magdeburg, Germany."

He reiterated the Kurdistan Region’s solidarity with the government and people of Germany, stating “Our hearts and thoughts are with the families of the victims, and we wish the injured a swift recovery."

The incident took place on the night of Dec. 20, 2024, when a car drove at high speed through a New Year's market in Magdeburg, Germany.

According to German newspaper "Bild," following the attack on the Christmas market in Magdeburg, the police are now reporting four deaths and 41 seriously injured.

According to BILD information, 86 people are being treated in hospitals with serious injuries. 78 people were slightly injured in the attack.
