Forecasting: Winter rainfall perhaps hit Kurdistan Region tomorrow

The Iraqi General Meteorological and Seismological further referred to the rainfall waves from Friday evening until the next day Saturday, the waves will reach its peak in some areas.

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – According to the weather forecasts broadcasted by the Iraqi General Meteorological and Seismological Body, from Thursday, December 26th, 2024, scattered showers start in Kurdistan Region (KR) in addition to thunderstorms in some areas. 

It is estimated by the KR Meteorological and Seismological department that the volume of the winter rainfall in Duhok, Erbil, Sulaimani and Halabja is larger than the other cities like Kirkuk and Diyala for this year, so far. 

The Iraqi General Meteorological and Seismological further referred to the rainfall waves that are expected, for tomorrow, will be little less in Anbar province, however, from Friday evening until the next day Saturday, the waves will reach its peak in some areas, and some other areas probably experience heavy showers, according to the same agency, the wave will end on Saturday evening though. 

A statement announced by the General Directorate of the Meteorology and Seismology, advised of partially cloudy sky in Duhok province, and clear for the rest of Kurdistan Region.

Garmian: 20°C 

According to the weather forecast in Kurdistan Region, the winter season begins, almost, from the end of November month.

It is believed the experts in the department that the rainfall volume was at its lowest in most areas of Kurdistan Region for Autumn 2024.
