KDP Official Presents Vision to U.S. Congressman Amid Regional Challenges

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – In a diplomatic engagement, Hemin Hawrami Head of the KDP's Organizational Bureau, met with U.S. Congressman Eugene Vindman at the U.S. Congress building on Friday.
The meeting served as an opportunity for the KDP to articulate its stance on key regional and political matters amid shifting dynamics in Iraq and the broader Middle East.
During the discussions, Hawrami conveyed the vision and policies of President Masoud Barzani and the KDP leadership concerning the internal political landscape of the Kurdistan Region, the evolving situation in Iraq, and broader regional security concerns.
He emphasized Kurdistan Region’s expectations from the new U.S. administration, highlighting the necessity for continued diplomatic engagement and strategic cooperation between Erbil and Washington.
Hawrami also addressed issues concerning Syria and the Kurdish question, stressing the importance of a stable and democratic solution that safeguards Kurdish rights.
Given the ongoing regional security challenges and geopolitical shifts, he underscored the necessity of U.S. involvement in fostering stability and supporting Kurdish aspirations within the framework of international law.
This meeting took place alongside Hawrami’s participation in the National Prayer Breakfast (NPB), a significant annual gathering in Washington, D.C.
On Thursday, Hawrami attended the 72nd iteration of this event, which brought together U.S. President Donald Trump, senior American officials, congressmen, diplomats, and international dignitaries, including the President of Kosovo, the Prime Minister of Armenia, and a former Ukrainian President.
The event, held under the auspices of the U.S. Congress Joint Committee, attracted more than 2,500 figures from 121 countries and 46 U.S. states.
On the sidelines of the NPB, Hawrami engaged with various diplomats and political representatives, exchanging views on the situation in the Kurdistan Region and the broader Middle East.
These interactions underscored Kurdistan’s diplomatic outreach efforts to reinforce international support and partnership amid ongoing regional uncertainties.
