ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani extended his warmest congratulations to the people of Kurdistan on the 34th anniversary of the historic 1991 Kurdish Uprising, paying tribute to the bravery of the Peshmerga forces and the sacrifices of the martyrs who laid down their lives for Kurdish freedom.
In his official statement, published on his accounts on social media, Barzani emphasized that the uprising remains one of the greatest milestones in Kurdistan’s history, as it united all segments of Kurdish society in a common struggle against oppression and occupation.
He highlighted that through collective resilience and unwavering determination, the Kurdish people successfully liberated their homeland from tyranny and established the foundations of self-rule through democratic elections, ultimately forming the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and its parliament.
