ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Senior Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) official Hoshyar Zebari has praised a groundbreaking agreement between Syria’s transitional President, Ahmed al-Sharaa, and Mazloum Abdi, commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), calling it a significant step toward shaping the country’s future.

In a post on social media platform X, Zebari described the preliminary deal, reached in Damascus, as a milestone that could lead to greater political inclusion. He highlighted that the SDF will remain a key force while gradually integrating into Syria’s security framework. He also noted that discussions on self-administration in Rojava have now become possible through negotiations and joint committees.

Zebari’s statement underscores the growing momentum for dialogue and cooperation in Syria, as different factions work toward a more inclusive and stable political future. His remarks reflect optimism that this agreement could lay the foundation for lasting peace and governance reforms in the region.
