ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Council of Ministers is set to convene on Wednesday, under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, to deliberate on critical economic and political matters affecting the region.

According to Kurdistan24 sources, the cabinet’s agenda includes discussions on the anticipated outcomes of recent joint meetings between the KRG Ministry of Natural Resources and Iraq’s Federal Ministry of Oil.

Wednesday’s meeting will be focused on efforts to resume oil exports from the region within the framework of Iraq’s federal budget law. The meeting will also be attended by the Association of the Petroleum Industry of Kurdistan (APIKUR).

The discussions come amid ongoing negotiations between Erbil and Baghdad regarding the Kurdistan Region’s oil export resumption. The KRG has been actively seeking solutions to ensure the resumption of oil exports while aligning with federal guidelines.

The KRG leadership is expected to continue engaging with federal authorities and energy sector stakeholders to reach a viable resolution that safeguards the region’s economic interests while adhering to Iraq’s federal framework.

Further updates on the outcomes of the cabinet meeting and future policy directions are expected following the discussions.
