ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – President Masoud Barzani on Thursday evening, received Iraqi Parliament Speaker Haibat al-Halbousi and a delegation of heads of political blocs from the Iraqi Council of Representatives in Erbil’s Pirmam district.
The visiting delegation offered condolences to President Barzani over the passing of Abdulwahid Ibrahim Sheikh Abdulsalam Barzani.
The meeting also addressed Iraq’s overall political situation, with discussions focusing on the threats and challenges facing the country in the upcoming phase.
The participants also discussed the role and responsibilities of the Iraqi parliament and political blocs in advancing the country’s political process.
The meeting stressed the importance of adhering to the Iraqi Constitution and supporting the federal government and other state institutions to safeguard Iraq’s stability, strengthen friendly and balanced relations with neighboring countries, and combat corruption and drug trafficking across the country.
