PM Barzani Receives Renowned Kurdish Sculptor Shwan Kamal, Praises His Artistic Achievements

During the meeting, Prime Minister Barzani praised Kamal’s sculptures and artistic works, which are prominently displayed in various cities across the Kurdistan Region and in European countries, particularly Germany and Sweden.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani received acclaimed Kurdish sculptor Shwan Kamal on Tuesday, commending his contributions to the world of art and culture.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Barzani praised Kamal’s sculptures and artistic works, which are prominently displayed in various cities across the Kurdistan Region and in European countries, particularly Germany and Sweden. He emphasized the importance of supporting Kurdish artists and promoting cultural expression both locally and internationally.

Sculptor Kamal expressed his appreciation for the Prime Minister’s encouragement and support of the artistic and cultural movement in Kurdistan. He noted that such recognition helps inspire and empower Kurdish artists working both at home and abroad.

Born in Sulaimani in 1967, Kamal graduated with honors in sculpture and earned a Bachelor of Arts from the Academy of Fine Arts at the University of Baghdad in 1991. He has been based in Germany since 1995, where he continues to produce and exhibit his work.

The meeting underscored the Kurdistan Regional Government’s commitment to fostering a vibrant cultural landscape and honoring Kurdish talent on the international stage.
