Kurdistan Region President Meets Top Iranian Security Official in Tehran

President Barzani reaffirmed the Kurdistan Region’s commitment to maintaining peaceful and constructive relations with its neighbors.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – As part of his official visit to Iran, Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani held a high-level meeting on Monday evening with Ali Akbar Ahmadian, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, to discuss regional stability and bilateral relations.

According to a statement from the Kurdistan Region Presidency, the talks in Tehran focused on strengthening ties between the Islamic Republic of Iran, Iraq, and the Kurdistan Region, with a particular emphasis on enhancing security coordination and fostering cooperation to ensure stability in the region.

President Barzani reaffirmed the Kurdistan Region’s commitment to maintaining peaceful and constructive relations with its neighbors. He stressed that the Region remains dedicated to ensuring that its territory and borders are not used to threaten the security of surrounding countries.

The meeting also touched on the recent developments in the Middle East and other shared concerns, highlighting the importance of continued dialogue and mutual understanding in navigating regional challenges.
