PM Barzani Meets with US Lawmakers in Washington to Strengthen Bilateral Ties

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani met with U.S. Congressmen Seth Moulton and Brad Sherman in Washington on Wednesday, in a continued effort to strengthen ties between the Kurdistan Region and the United States.
According to a statement from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), the meeting focused on enhancing bilateral relations, regional security developments, and the broader situation in Iraq and neighboring countries.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the Kurdistan Region and the Peshmerga forces, emphasizing the strategic importance of the partnership in promoting stability and counterterrorism efforts.
The discussions also addressed the KRG’s ongoing reform initiatives, particularly within the Ministry of Peshmerga, as well as progress in other key sectors. Regional developments, including the evolving situation in Syria, were also the focus of the talks.
Prime Minister Barzani's visit to Washington is part of a broader diplomatic initiative to deepen cooperation with U.S. institutions and policymakers.
