ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Israeli warplanes launched airstrikes on multiple locations in Iran late Friday night, including the capital Tehran, in what appears to be a direct response to a recent missile barrage by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on Tel Aviv.

According to initial reports from Iranian media, explosions were heard across the capital and surrounding provinces, including Ilam in northwestern Iran, as air defense systems were activated to intercept incoming projectiles.

The Israeli retaliatory strikes come just hours after the IRGC launched several missiles at Tel Aviv, reportedly wounding more than 40 people. The latest round of escalation marks one of the most direct and dangerous exchanges between the two regional powers in recent years.

Iranian state media has released footage showing attempted interceptions by the country’s air defense systems, though the extent of the damage remains unclear as of Saturday morning.

The developments have heightened fears of a broader regional conflict, particularly in the wake of recent tensions involving Iran, Israel, and various proxies across the Middle East.

This is a developing story. Further updates will be provided.
