Iran Launches Missile Strikes on US Bases in Qatar and Iraq

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) — Iran launched a series of missile strikes targeting U.S. military bases in Qatar and Iraq on Monday evening, marking a sharp escalation in regional tensions following recent American attacks on key Iranian nuclear facilities.
According to Iranian state media, the coordinated assault was codenamed “Blessing of Victory” and was described as a “powerful” retaliatory measure by the Islamic Republic. The state-run IRNA news agency reported that the missiles were aimed at U.S. installations in both countries, including Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, which hosts the largest American military presence in the Middle East.
“The operation of Iranian missiles against American bases in Qatar and Iraq has begun,” IRNA stated, framing the move as a direct response to Washington’s military actions.
Also, Qatar's Ministry of Defense announced on Monday that its air defense systems successfully intercepted several missiles targeting Al Udeid Air Base, the largest U.S. military installation in the Middle East, amid heightened regional tensions.
The interceptions came shortly after air traffic in Qatar was temporarily suspended following Iranian threats of retaliation for U.S. strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities. Residents of Doha reported hearing explosions in the early hours, but authorities confirmed there were no casualties or damage.
“Thanks to God, the vigilance of the armed forces, and the precautionary measures taken, the incident did not result in any deaths or injuries,” the Ministry of Defense stated.
Al Udeid Air Base, located just outside Doha, serves as the regional headquarters for U.S. Central Command and plays a critical role in military operations across the region.
The Ministry assured the public that the airspace and territory of Qatar remain secure and emphasized that the Qatar Armed Forces are fully prepared to respond to any threat. Citizens and residents have been urged to rely on official sources for accurate updates.
Qatar, a key U.S. ally and major global gas exporter, has reiterated its commitment to maintaining stability and security within its borders.
