ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) — U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday celebrated what he called the "biggest bill of its kind ever signed," following the passage of the sweeping legislative package dubbed the "One Big, Beautiful Bill" through both chambers of the U.S. Congress. The White House announced the bill's approval in a post on its official X account, declaring: "VICTORY: The One Big Beautiful Bill Passes U.S. Congress, Heads to President Trump’s Desk."

In remarks to reporters during a press gaggle, Trump described the legislation as an economic "rocket ship," emphasizing its magnitude and potential impact. "It's gonna make this country into a rocket ship. It's gonna be really great," he said. "Point after point — biggest tax cut in history, great for security, great on the Southern border. Immigration is covered. We cover just about everything. Again, it's the biggest bill ever signed of its kind."

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, writing on X, framed the bill as the realization of Trump’s economic and political agenda. “President Trump’s One Big, Beautiful Bill delivers on the commonsense agenda that nearly 80 million Americans voted for – the largest middle-class tax cut in history, permanent border security, massive military funding, and restoring fiscal sanity,” she said.

She continued, "The pro-growth policies within this historic legislation are going to fuel an economic boom like we’ve never seen before. President Trump looks forward to signing the One Big, Beautiful Bill into law to officially usher in the Golden Age of America."

On his Truth Social platform, Trump wrote, “THE ONE BIG BEAUTIFUL DEAL IS ALL ABOUT GROWTH. IF PASSED, AMERICA WILL HAVE AN ECONOMIC RENAISSANCE LIKE NEVER BEFORE. IT IS ALREADY HAPPENING, JUST IN ANTICIPATION OF THE BEAUTIFUL BILL. DEFICIT CUT IN HALF, RECORD INVESTMENT — CASH, FACTORIES, JOBS POURING INTO THE USA. MAGA!!!"

Another post read: "The Republicans in the House of Representatives have just passed the 'ONE BIG BEAUTIFUL BILL ACT.' Our Party is UNITED like never before and, our Country is 'HOT.' We are going to have a Signing Celebration at the White House tomorrow... Together, we will celebrate our Nation’s Independence, and the beginning of our new Golden Age."

According to Trump, the bill has been under discussion for more than a year. He credited key Republican leaders, including House Speaker Mike Johnson, Senate Majority Leader John Thune, and House Majority Whip Tom Emmer, for their roles in shepherding the bill through Congress. “They worked so hard. This has really been going on for over a year... And this was the culmination,” Trump said.

While the president hailed the near-unanimous support from Republican lawmakers, he acknowledged two votes against the bill and expressed disappointment in those dissenters. “There were two of them that voted no, so I was disappointed,” he said, noting that he had a lengthy phone conversation with one of them discussing not only the bill but also foreign policy issues, including Iran and the war in Ukraine.

Trump also outlined upcoming plans to send out letters to international trade partners indicating new tariffs, rather than negotiating numerous individual trade deals. “We have, you know, far more than 170 countries. And how many deals can you make?” he said. “I'd rather send out a letter saying this is what you're gonna pay to do business in the United States."

When asked about the broader message of the bill, Trump responded, “You're gonna be proud of your country because our country is doing fantastically well... despite the fact that we inherited millions of people that shouldn't have been here.”

He concluded his remarks by previewing a grand signing ceremony at the White House on Friday at 5 p.m. EST, complete with military flyovers featuring B-2s, F-22s, and F-35s. “It’s gonna be a great day,” he said. “We’ll be signing with those beautiful planes flying right over our heads."

Trump further noted that the bill's passage and the projected economic growth reinforce his administration’s success. "My first term was very, very successful. We had the greatest economy in the history of our country. I think we're gonna blow it away this term."

As the bill heads to the president's desk for final signature, expectations are high for what the Trump administration has termed the dawn of a new "Golden Age" in American economic history.
