Two American Aid Workers Injured in Grenade Attack at Gaza Relief Site: GHF
“GHF has repeatedly warned of credible threats from Hamas, including explicit plans to target American personnel, Palestinian aid workers, and the civilians who rely on our sites for food,” the group said. “Today’s attack tragically affirms those warnings.”

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) — Two American humanitarian workers were injured Saturday in what the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) described as a “targeted terrorist attack” on one of its food distribution centers in southern Gaza, according to a statement issued by the US- and Israeli-backed organization, cited by AFP.
The incident took place at the SDS-3 distribution site in Khan Yunis during the conclusion of a food distribution operation that had served thousands of Gazans. Preliminary reports indicate that two assailants hurled grenades at the American staff members, both of whom are now in stable condition.
The Israeli military confirmed it had evacuated the injured personnel from the area.
The GHF, a privately-run relief initiative supported by both Washington and Jerusalem, launched its operations on May 26 amid a deepening humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Its efforts came in response to Israel’s two-month-long suspension of aid supplies into the enclave—a move that prompted international warnings of widespread famine.
In its statement, GHF reiterated its concerns over mounting security threats in the field. “GHF has repeatedly warned of credible threats from Hamas, including explicit plans to target American personnel, Palestinian aid workers, and the civilians who rely on our sites for food,” the group said. “Today’s attack tragically affirms those warnings.”
The attack underscores the extreme volatility of the humanitarian landscape in Gaza, where aid delivery has become not only a logistical challenge but also a deadly risk for international and local workers alike.
