President Barzani Meets Turkish Consul General in Erbil, Discusses Regional Developments

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) — President Masoud Barzani on Wednesday received Erman Topçu, the Turkish Consul General in Erbil, at his headquarters in Pirmam, Erbil.

The two sides exchanged views on Iraq’s political situation, recent developments in the wider region, and relations between the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and the federal government in Baghdad.

They also discussed the ongoing peace process in Türkiye.

President Barzani has long played a significant role in promoting dialogue and stability across the region, acting as a mediator between rival parties in Iraq, fostering reconciliation efforts in Syria, and supporting initiatives aimed at ending decades of conflict in Türkiye. His involvement in peacebuilding has earned him a reputation as a trusted figure in regional diplomacy.
