Erdoğan to Visit Saudi Arabia for Talks with Saudi Crown Prince and Pakistan's Prime Minister
One-day visit to focus on high-level discussions with Mohammed bin Salman and Shehbaz Sharif
ERBIL (Kurdistan24) — Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will travel to Saudi Arabia on Friday for a one-day working visit, where he is expected to hold separate meetings with Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the Turkish presidency announced on Thursday.
According to the Turkish Presidency's Directorate of Communications, Erdoğan's visit is scheduled for Aug. 7.
"President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will pay a one-day working visit to Saudi Arabia on August 7, 2026," Head of Communications Burhanettin Duran said in a statement posted on X.
The presidency said Erdoğan is expected to meet Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during the visit.
Pakistan has been seeking to mediate an end to the U.S.-Iran war, which has drawn several Gulf states into the conflict and disrupted maritime traffic through the strategic Strait of Hormuz
The presidency did not provide further details on the agenda or specify the location of the meetings.
The visit comes as Türkiye and Saudi Arabia continue to deepen political, economic, and security cooperation following the normalization of ties in recent years.
It also provides an opportunity for consultations involving Pakistan, a close strategic partner of both Ankara and Riyadh, on regional developments and areas of mutual interest.
No additional information was immediately released regarding any agreements or joint statements expected from the meetings.
