President Barzani: Erbil-Baghdad Relations Under Iraq PM Zaidi at 'Excellent Stage'

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) - President Masoud Barzani said Sunday that relations between the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and Iraq's federal government under Prime Minister Ali Zaidi are at an "excellent stage," marked by close coordination and mutual understanding.
President Barzani made the assessment during a meeting with Holly Vare, the newly appointed British Consul General in Erbil, according to a statement from Barzani Headquarters.
"Relations between the KRG and the Iraqi federal government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Ali Zaidi, are currently at an excellent stage, characterized by high levels of coordination and mutual understanding," President Barzani said, according to the statement.
The meeting included discussions on the current political situation in Iraq and the relationship between Erbil and Baghdad. The two sides also exchanged views on broader regional developments and changes in the Middle East.

President Barzani welcomed Vare to her new diplomatic post and wished her success in her mission, expressing his readiness to support her work in the Kurdistan Region.
Vare said she intends to strengthen and expand relations between the United Kingdom and the Kurdistan Region, according to the statement. She also praised the region's progress across various sectors.
The British-Kurdish relationship was among the issues discussed during the meeting, alongside the political situation in Iraq and wider developments in the region.
The meeting comes as Vare begins her tenure as Britain's new consul general in Erbil. Barzani Headquarters said the discussions covered the latest regional shifts without providing further details.
