Turkish Defense Minister Condemns Drone Attack on PM Barzani’s Office

In a message to Prime Minister Barzani, Güler strongly condemned the attack, describing it as “unacceptable” and warning that such acts threaten peace, stability, and security in the region.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – On Tuesday, Türkiye’s Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler expressed deep concern over the drone attack targeting Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani’s private office in Erbil.

In a message to Prime Minister Barzani, Güler strongly condemned the attack, describing it as “unacceptable” and warning that such acts threaten peace, stability, and security in the region.

“I strongly condemn this unacceptable attack against the peace, stability, and security of our region,” Güler said.

He expressed solidarity with Barzani on behalf of himself and Türkiye’s Ministry of National Defense, wishing the Kurdistan Region prime minister safety and a swift recovery.

“As Türkiye, we will always stand by our friends against those who seek to drag our region into chaos and conflict,” Güler said.

The Turkish minister also expressed hope that peace and security would prevail across the region and that neighboring countries could continue to live in peace. He concluded by wishing Barzani good health, success, and happiness.

The Kurdistan Region Counter-Terrorism Service (CTS) said on Monday that two Iranian-made Hadid-110 explosive drones targeted Barzani’s private office in Pirmam, near Erbil, and the home of the head of the Kurdistan Region’s Security and Intelligence Agency (Parastin). No casualties were reported.
