KRG Prime Minister's Office Urges People With Disabilities to Register for My Account Project
Nearly 7,000 beneficiaries have yet to complete registration as 8,000 cards are already distributed, and legal representatives can register on behalf of those unable to attend in person
ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) - The Kurdistan Region Government Prime Minister's Office announced on Tuesday a call for people with disabilities and salary recipients with special needs to register for the "My Account" project, revealing that more than 91 percent of eligible social beneficiaries have already completed the registration process while nearly 7,000 remain outstanding.
According to the statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office, the total number of social beneficiaries eligible for the project stands at approximately 65,000 people. Of those, more than 55,000 beneficiaries, representing 91 percent of the total, have already completed their registration in the My Account system. Nearly 7,000 beneficiaries have not yet completed the registration process and are being urged to do so without delay. Approximately 8,000 cards have already been delivered to registered beneficiaries.
The Prime Minister's Office encouraged those beneficiaries who can travel independently to proceed to their designated banks to register for the "My Account" project or collect their cards if they have already registered. The project will notify beneficiaries in the coming days by text message, informing them of the specific bank and scheduled time at which they can collect their cards.
For beneficiaries who are unable to attend the designated location due to their disability or because they are under the age of 18, a legal representative must be present on their behalf. Legal representatives are required to visit the Social Welfare Network Directorate affiliated with the Ministry of Social Affairs and complete the "My Account" registration form in person.
Representatives attending on behalf of beneficiaries must bring the following documents: a court-issued legal authorization document confirming their representative status, along with their own identification documents and those of the beneficiary, specifically the national identity card and information card.
The "My Account" project emphasized that people with disabilities and those with special needs will not be charged any additional fees for creating an account or withdrawing money from ATMs, ensuring that the financial inclusion initiative imposes no additional burden on the most vulnerable beneficiaries it is designed to serve.
