The United Kingdom provides extensive and ongoing diplomatic, military, and humanitarian support to the Kurdistan Region, acting as a key strategic ally through counter-terrorism cooperation, assistance with Peshmerga reform, and diplomatic mediation with Baghdad.
The British military advisors work alongside international partners to support the Ministry of the Peshmerga in unifying forces under a single command structure.
