Kurdistan Prime Minister Attends Duhok University Graduation Ceremony for 3,098 Students
Masrour Barzani joins the 31st graduation ceremony of Duhok University, with graduates representing 31 departments and 95 academic programs
ERBIL (Kurdistan24) — Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani is attending Duhok University’s 31st graduation ceremony on Monday, as 3,098 students graduate from 31 departments and 95 academic programs for the 2025-2026 academic year.
The ceremony is being held Monday evening, Oct. 5, 2026, at Duhok Sports Club Stadium, with graduates and their families invited to attend the event.
Duhok University asked all graduates to arrive at the stadium by 3 p.m. to complete preparations and organizational arrangements ahead of the ceremony.
3,098 Students Graduate
A total of 3,098 students are graduating from Duhok University this year, representing 31 departments and a total of 95 academic programs.
The university's academic programs include 70 morning-study programs and 25 evening-study programs.
The Department of Basic Education has the largest number of graduates, with 571 students, followed by the Education Department in Akre with 430 graduates and the Humanities Department with 316.
The Engineering Department has 178 graduates, while the Dentistry Department has 137. The Science and Languages departments each have 131 graduates.
The Administration and Economics Department has 122 graduates, followed by Medicine with 117 and Agricultural Engineering with 111.
The Law and Political Science departments each have 91 graduates, while Nursing has 83 and Pharmacy has 76.
The Basic Education Department in Amedi has 65 graduates, followed by Veterinary Medicine with 49, Political and Public Sciences with 46, Health Sciences with 45 and Social Planning with 12 graduates.
Employment Allocation
According to the university’s summary of employment allocations, the recruitment process covers all 3,098 graduates, with the largest allocations going to medical fields, Basic Education and Education in Akre.
Medical departments have received an allocation for 331 graduates, while Basic Education has been allocated 511 positions and Education in Akre 430.
The allocations are distributed among the university’s graduates based on the relevant departments, with additional fields receiving positions according to their respective numbers and employment requirements.
The graduation ceremony marks the completion of the 2025-2026 academic year for thousands of students across a wide range of academic disciplines at Duhok University.
