ERBIL (Kurdistan24) - A member of the Iraqi parliament and the Kurdistan Democratic Party’s (KDP) organizational bureau for Kirkuk and Garmiyan-Khanaqin sent congratulatory messages to Kurdistan24 on Saturday, marking 11 years since the channel’s founding. Both praised its role in Kurdish media.

On Saturday, Nahla Efendi, a member of the Iraqi parliament in its fifth term, sent a message to the channel’s director, writers, journalists, correspondents and all employees. She extended her warm congratulations to the staff and viewers.

Efendi stressed that Kurdistan24 has become a bridge for delivering facts quickly and has always been at the forefront of raising public awareness.

The lawmaker, who belongs to the KDP caucus in the Iraqi parliament, expressed hope that Kurdistan24 will continue, as always, to uphold the principles and ethics of journalism in the service of national and patriotic causes.

She concluded by asking the channel to keep playing its active and important role in serving and advancing Kurdish media, in the same patriotic and national spirit.

The KDP’s Organizational Bureau for Kirkuk province and Garmiyan-Khanaqin sent its own message on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2026, addressed to the channel’s general supervisor and staff.

“On the occasion of 11 years since the founding of your national and pioneering channel, in the name of the Organizational Bureau of Kirkuk province and Garmiyan-Khanaqin of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, we extend our warmest congratulations to the director and all journalists, technicians and your colleagues on staff,” the message said.

The bureau explained: “In its lifetime, the Kurdistan24 satellite channel has managed to present a new and advanced model of Kurdish media and, in a patriotic manner, has won its place in viewers’ hearts through its harmony with Kurdish customs, traditions and culture.”

In another part of the message, the bureau said: “We deeply appreciate the prominent and influential role your channel has played in the Kirkuk, Garmiyan and Khanaqin areas in covering events, carrying citizens’ voice and attending to the identity and history of these areas in a professional and patriotic manner.”

The bureau closed by wishing Kurdistan24’s staff further growth and success in their new year of work. It said it hopes the channel will always remain an authentic and influential platform for conveying the truth and serving the just cause of the Kurdish people.

The Kurdistan24 Research and Media Foundation began broadcasting 11 years ago, at the same time the war against ISIS erupted. In Kurdish and five living world languages, it has become a national platform for defending the constitutional status of the Kurdistan Region and promoting the culture of coexistence.

As it enters its 12th year, the foundation is emphasizing several unchanging principles. They include putting the accuracy of news ahead of speed, protecting human dignity and family privacy over sensationalism, offering hope and protecting the psychological calm of society, and dealing wisely with artificial intelligence to prevent disinformation. On these foundations, it is moving toward a new stage of digital development and investment in the capacity of young journalists, without compromising its national and professional values.
