ERBIL (Kurdistan24) - Zom Dairy, a Kurdistan Region company that buys milk from thousands of local farmers and livestock breeders, has received international recognition at the 2026 TOP/COM GRANDS PRIX Consumer awards in Paris for work associated with its brand design and presentation.

The company was named among the award recipients in the Global Design category, with the entry "Zom: du bon lait, du bien commun" ("Zom: Good Milk, the Common Good"), developed with creative agency Team Creatif.

The ceremony took place on Thursday, Nov. 5, at the Collège des Bernardins in the French capital.

The official competition materials list Zom alongside other Global Design entries, including Bonduelle, Domaine Mira Luna and the Office de Tourisme des Contrées Vertes.

Under TOP/COM's rules, every listed entry receives an award, while Gold, Silver, Bronze and overall Grand Prix distinctions are determined separately.

Abdulaziz Sherwani, Chief Executive Officer of Zom, told Kurdistan24 that the TOP/COM awards recognize achievements across consumer communication, including advertising, product launches, branding, packaging and engagement with customers.

For Zom, the recognition draws attention to the way a locally produced dairy brand presents itself to consumers beyond the Kurdistan Region.

But the company's operations begin far from the awards venue, with farmers and livestock breeders supplying fresh cow's milk to processing facilities in the Barzan area.

From Rural Milk Collection to Dairy Production

Sherwani said Zom collects milk from producers in villages and processes it into milk, yogurt, cheese, yogurt drinks and cream, offering different sizes and flavors.

He described a production chain that links livestock farming, milk collection and manufacturing.

According to company figures, Zom operates 28 milk collection centers across different locations.

The centers allow farmers to deliver milk closer to where they raise their livestock, reducing the distance and expense involved in transporting a perishable product to a factory.

Regular purchasing also offers farmers a more predictable outlet for their milk.

Sherwani said the model was intended to provide livestock breeders with a stable source of income rather than requiring them to find individual buyers for each day's production.

More than 3,367 farmers have directly benefited from the project, according to Zom, while its workforce exceeds 400 employees.

During spring 2026, the volume of milk collected through its centers approached 40 tons per day.

Those figures describe the company's reported operational reach, although no breakdown of farmers' earnings, average purchase prices or year-round collection volumes was provided.

The spring figure should not necessarily be treated as the company's daily average across all seasons.

Zom was established in 2020 and officially inaugurated on May 30, 2023, by Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani. Its factory is located in Zhazhok village in Mergasor district, within the Barzan area.

Recognition for a Kurdistan-Made Brand

The TOP/COM GRANDS PRIX Consumer program recognizes work in several areas of communication, from advertising and public relations to digital projects and design.

Its Global Design category is distinct from the separate Packaging category, even though packaging and product presentation form part of Zom's wider branding.

The 2026 jury process included recorded presentations of entries, followed by final deliberations.

The Paris ceremony brought together award recipients from across the program's categories, giving companies and creative agencies an opportunity to present their work.

For Zom, the award highlights the brand-facing side of a business that also depends on an extensive network of rural suppliers. I

ts milk collection centers, processing facility and product range connect agricultural activity in Kurdistan's villages with finished goods sold under a recognizable name.

The international recognition marks a milestone for the company and its design partner as Zom continues operating through a supply chain that, according to its own figures, supports thousands of farming households and hundreds of employees in the Kurdistan Region.
