Araghchi Warns US to Choose between Iran's Peace Proposal and War
In a statement published on X on Sunday, Araghchi said the outcome of the elections had sent a message to Washington, urging the Trump administration to make its own decision.
ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has warned the United States that it faces a choice between accepting Tehran's proposed peace terms and entering a war, following the recent US midterm elections.
In a statement published on X on Sunday, Araghchi said the outcome of the elections had sent a message to Washington, urging the Trump administration to make its own decision.
"American voters have made their choice. Time for the White House to make its own," Araghchi wrote.
He said Iran's proposed two-day peace framework remained on the table, calling on Washington to meet its conditions, including an immediate end to the war on all fronts.
The Iranian foreign minister warned that should the United States reject the proposal and opt for military confrontation, Iran's "alert and battle-hardened warriors" were prepared to respond on the battlefield.
Araghchi's remarks followed a series of intensive diplomatic consultations on November 6–7, during which he held separate telephone conversations with the foreign ministers of 12 countries: Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, Iraq, Pakistan, Oman, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, Cyprus, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, and Tunisia.
During the discussions, Araghchi stressed the importance of respecting national sovereignty and ending ongoing military threats and aggression across the region.
He also called for the establishment of comprehensive regional security arrangements managed by Middle Eastern countries themselves, advocating the withdrawal of external military forces from outside the region.
The diplomatic outreach comes amid heightened regional tensions and continued efforts to secure an end to the conflict.
