Reuters: US High-Level Delegation Arrives in Pakistan for Talks with Iran
The Reuters news agency has reported that this morning, Saturday, the US negotiation delegation arrived in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, as preparation for the anticipated talks with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Reuters, citing several Pakistani sources, stated: "The plane carrying the US negotiation delegation for talks with Iran has landed in Islamabad."
The Washington delegation is led by US Vice President JD Vance, accompanied by Steve Witkoff, the special envoy, and Jared Kushner.
The Tehran delegation, on the other hand, will be led by Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, Speaker of Iran's Parliament, along with Abbas Araghchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ali Akbar Ahmadian, Secretary of the Supreme Defense Council, and Abdolnasser Hemmati, Governor of the Central Bank.
Talks between Washington and Tehran are scheduled to begin today, Saturday. This step follows the ceasefire announced early last Wednesday, which halted the war that began on February 28, 2026.
