Iran Launches Missiles Toward Israel as IDF Activates Air Defenses
The Israeli military announced Sunday that it had identified missiles launched from Iran toward Israeli territory, activating air defense systems to intercept the incoming threat.
"The IDF identified missiles launched from Iran toward Israel. Defensive systems are operating to intercept the threat," the military said on X. Israeli authorities did not immediately disclose how many missiles were launched or whether any penetrated the country's air defense network.
Shortly after, Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters warned Israel against continuing military operations in southern Lebanon and Beirut's southern suburbs, accusing Israel of crossing "all red lines." It warned that any further escalation would be met with "more powerful and regrettable blows."
The exchange marks a new escalation in regional tensions amid continued fighting between Israel, Iran, and Tehran-backed groups on multiple fronts.
