MoPA’s Head of Reforms Directorate welcomed French Embassy’s Military attaché in Baghdad, Head of French team in international coalition

Side by side with the coalition countries, France is to send its advisors to Kurdistan regarding reform plans within the Ministry of Peshmerga.

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – On Monday, the Ministry of Peshmerga Affairs (MoPA)’s Head of Reforms Directorate welcomed the Military attaché at the French Embassy in Baghdad and the head of the French team in the international coalition against ISIS in the Kurdistan Region.

The meeting conferred a significant role in the MoPA’s reform process, coordinating and strengthening the relations between the two parties.

The Director of the Reform Section of Peshmerga at the Ministry of Peshmerga, Lieutenant Engineer, Nabaz Salah Sdiq, met with General Olivier, the Director of Military and Civil Affairs at the French Embassy in Baghdad, and Colonel John Mark, who is the Head of the French Team in the International Coalition against ISIS in the Kurdistan Region.

According to the statement by the ministry, the Director of the Reform section at the Peshmerga Ministry presented a summary of plans in the ministry about uniting and organizing the Peshmerga forces within several proposals, and that was advised and discussed in the meeting with the French military delegates.

General Olivier extended his country’s support to the procedure of reforming at the Ministry of Peshmerga.

The importance of the relations between the two states has been underlined, also France’s assistance was pointed out.
