KDP condemns attack on Baghdad office, other parties

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – The Political Bureau of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) on Friday condemned the recent attacks targeting its headquarters and other party offices in the Iraqi capital.
In one attack on Thursday, an unidentified individual threw a grenade inside the KDP head office in Baghdad's Karada district, only causing material damage. Earlier on Friday, two explosions targeted the Baghdad headquarters of the Sunni Taqadum (Progress) party of re-elected parliament speaker Mohamed al-Halbousi the Azm Movement led by Khamis al-Khanjar.
The KDP strongly condemned the "acts of sabotage," stating such violence further deteriorates Iraq's political process. It also called on federal authorities to "find the perpetrators of these attacks and bring them to justice" and protect party offices in the capital.
On Thursday evening, a rocket attack also targeted the US Embassy in the Iraqi capital of Baghdad, reportedly wounding two civilians in areas close to the fortified Green Zone.
