Kurdistan Region President, Erdogan discuss strengthening ties
Several issues of common interest and the threat of terrorism were also discussed at the meeting.
ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – During his meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday, Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani discussed “the development of relations and cooperation between Turkey, Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.”
The meeting happened on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, which is an annual conference on international diplomacy that has been held in Antalya, Turkey since 2021.
Both sides discussed the possibilities and consequences of the tense situation in the region and the ongoing Gaza war and stressed that comprehensive efforts and cooperation were necessary to resolve the issue peacefully through dialogue and diplomatic means.

On Feb. 26 the Kurdistan24 correspondent in Ankara reported that the Turkish President would visit Iraq after the Turkish local elections on March 31.

Also, Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein on Friday told CNN Turk that they would “welcome Recep Tayyip Erdogan in April.”
