PM Barzani directs measures to safeguard citizens amid heavy rainfall in Erbil
During a phone call addressing the ongoing weather conditions, KRG PM Masrour Barzani tasked Erbil Governor Omid Khoshnaw with monitoring the situation and coordinating preparations within the Erbil Governorate.
Erbil (Kurdistan 24) - Today, Tuesday, March 19, the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, instructed the Governor of Erbil to implement all necessary measures to safeguard citizens amidst the region's heavy rainfall.
During a phone call addressing the ongoing weather conditions, KRG PM Masrour Barzani tasked Erbil Governor Omed Khoshnaw with monitoring the situation and coordinating preparations within the Erbil Governorate.
In response, Governor Khoshnaw provided a detailed overview of the readiness of various civil departments and entities to handle potential emergencies, including today's rainfall, and assured effective management of the situation.
Furthermore, the Erbil Governor highlighted past initiatives, programs, projects, and solutions implemented with direct support from the KRG PM to mitigate flood risks in the region, significantly reducing their impact on Erbil.
The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of prioritizing citizen safety and instructed the implementation of all necessary measures to ensure their protection. He also reaffirmed the Kurdistan Regional Government's readiness to provide immediate assistance as required.
