Turkey's new ambassador to Baghdad appointed
Inan, previously the deputy head of Turkey-Iraq relations at the Foreign Ministry, will replace Guney, whose term as ambassador spanned from 2020 to 2024.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Anil Bora Inan has been appointed as Turkey's new ambassador to Baghdad, succeeding Ali Riza Guney. This decision, issued by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, was published in Turkey's official gazette.
Inan, previously the deputy head of Turkey-Iraq relations at the Foreign Ministry, will replace Guney, whose term as ambassador spanned from 2020 to 2024.
The economic ties between Iraq and Turkey remain robust, with an annual trade volume of approximately $20 billion.
In a significant diplomatic move, President Erdogan, accompanied by a high-level delegation, visited Baghdad and Erbil in April.
During this visit, 26 joint agreements and memoranda were signed, further strengthening the bilateral relations between the two countries.
