ERBIL (Kurdistan24) - Kurdistan Region’s Prime Minister Masrour Barzani inaugurated the Eagle Post Center in Erbil today, marking a significant step towards the digitization of the postal and delivery sector in the region.

During the inauguration ceremony of the Eagle Post Center, the Kurdistan Region's Minister of Transport and Communications Ano Jawhar delivered a speech emphasizing the significance of this development for the people of Kurdistan.

"Today in Erbil, the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) is taking an important step to serve the proud citizens of Kurdistan," Minister Jawhar stated. He highlighted that the establishment of the main postal center, in coordination with the private sector through the joint venture "Eagle Post," marks a crucial step towards modernizing the postal sector.

This initiative aims to reduce bureaucratic routines, lower expenses for citizens, and digitize services that directly impact daily lives.

Minister Jawhar emphasized the broader vision behind these efforts, stating, "What we are doing in the postal sector is a small step in the sort of vision that Kurdistan Region’s Prime Minister Masrour Barzani has about the postal sector to serve the citizens."

He likened the existence of a modern and advanced postal service to building a reliable bridge connecting citizens at home and abroad.

With the support of Prime Minister Barzani and the Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Transportation has successfully implemented and developed several key projects.

"We have reached more than 400,000 households with FTTH (Fiber to the Home), and we continue to strengthen and expand the networks of this service," Minister Jawhar noted.

Additionally, he highlighted the progress in high-speed internet infrastructure, stating, "The high-speed internet project has reached 3,700 government offices, and we continue to expand the network to reach all districts and sub-districts up to the border gates."

This milestone in postal modernization, alongside other technological advancements, underscores the KRG's commitment to enhancing services and infrastructure for the citizens of Kurdistan.
