Iraqi aviation destroys ISIS hideouts in Kirkuk

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – Iraqi aviation successfully conducted two air strikes using F-16 aircraft, resulting in the destruction of ISIS terrorist hideouts, tunnels, and caves in Kirkuk.
The Iraqi Security Media Cell released a statement on Thursday, detailing the operation: "In continuation of the exploratory work to track down the remaining detachments of ISIS terrorist gangs, and with precise information from the Military Intelligence Directorate, which effectively utilized surveillance equipment and technical resources under the supervision and planning of the Joint Operations Command, the F-16s carried out two air strikes at 6:30 today on a detachment of three terrorists in Wadi al-Shay (Tea Valley) within the Kirkuk Operations Command sector."
The statement further elaborated that the strikes targeted dens, caves, and tunnels used by these detachments in the same location.
It emphasized that Iraqi security forces are capable of reaching any place that terrorists consider difficult to access.
This comes at a time that CENTCOM announced on Wednesday that it had carried out an airstrike in Syria three days earlier that had killed “a senior ISIS official and facilitator.”
The announcement was extremely short on details. According to the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), America’s main partner in the fight against ISIS in Syria, the strike occurred in Turkish-controlled territory, which may well indicate an enhanced level of cooperation between Washington and Ankara in fighting ISIS.
