Person arrested for burning 500 acres of forest in Arbat district
The fire was brought under control within four hours with the assistance of the Sulaimani Provincial Aviation Team and the civil defense bases of Arbat, Azadi, and Tanjaro.

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – A citizen has been arrested for allegedly burning 500 acres of forests and damaging approximately 60,000 trees in Arbat district.
On Thursday, the Forest and Environment Police station of Arbat reported that 500 acres of forests were set ablaze in the villages of "Welaka and Darbandfaqara" in Arbat district. According to forest science, each acre contained 120 natural trees.
After being informed of the fire, a team from the Arbat Forest and Environment Police Station promptly arrived at the scene to extinguish the fire and investigate its cause.
The fire was brought under control within four hours with the assistance of the Sulaimani Provincial Aviation Team and the civil defense bases of Arbat, Azadi, and Tanjaro.
An investigation has been launched into the incident at the Arbat Forest and Environment Police Station for legal action.
