ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – On Thursday, Dler Muhammad, Director General of Tourism of Erbil, highlighted the positive impact of Prime Minister Masrour Barzani's decision to exempt taxes on various sectors, emphasizing its potential to revitalize the tourism industry and generate more job opportunities for local workers.

"These decisions by the Prime Minister demonstrate the Kurdistan Regional Government's goodwill and commitment to alleviating burdens on professionals and employers," Muhammad stated.

He recalled the Prime Minister's decision on March 27 to forgive the accumulated debts of the tourism sector in the Kurdistan Region, describing it as a significant aid that will positively affect service prices.

While it is too early to determine the total number of beneficiaries of the tax exemption, Muhammad provided a preliminary insight, noting that in Erbil province alone, 176 officially licensed tourism destinations will benefit directly.
"We expect a significant increase in the number of hotel and motel guests and will focus on expanding tourism to create more job opportunities for local workers," he said.
