ERBIL (Kurdistan24) - The fifth edition of the Erbil International Technology Exhibition (HITEX 2024), sponsored by Kurdistan24, is set to take place from September 3rd to 6th.

Organized in coordination with the Kurdistan Regional Government, this year's event promises to be bigger and more diverse than ever before, with about 100 companies from 17 countries participating.

Farhang Bradosti, the exhibition's supervisor, told Kurdistan24 that HITEX 2024 will feature an expanded format, including a separate conference hall alongside the main exhibition area.

He emphasized the focus on specific technological areas and the opportunity for companies to showcase innovations and build the foundations for future advancements.

The conference, themed "The Future Unlocked," will span all four days of the exhibition. It will feature seven panels, three seminars, and two workshops, with each day dedicated to a different topic such as agricultural technology, artificial intelligence, financial technology, and tech entrepreneurship.

This platform aims to gather academics, government representatives, NGOs, and private sector leaders, both local and international, to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and perspectives on information technology development.

Hitex Future Stars Returns

The Hitex Future Stars program, a crowdfunding platform that connects startups with mentors, investors, and organizations, will also be returning this year with even greater corporate support.

This initiative empowers young entrepreneurs to showcase their technology-related innovations to a large audience and jury.

Forty projects will be on display during Hitex, allowing business owners to share their creativity and potentially secure support for their ventures. This platform fosters skill development and encourages the growth of youth-led projects.

Falling Walls Lab Debuts in Erbil

In a first for Hitex, Open Space Academy will organize the Falling Walls Lab in Erbil, in collaboration with Salahaddin University. This unique event offers students and business owners a platform to present their groundbreaking ideas in just three minutes.

The winner of this event will get the chance to present their idea in Berlin in November 2024, alongside winners from other Falling Walls Labs around the world.

With its diverse program and focus on fostering innovation, Hitex 2024 is poised to be a landmark event for the technology sector in Iraq and the wider region.
