PM Masrour Barzani meets outgoing EU Liaison Head, emphasizes cooperation, fair elections

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Masrour Barzani received Torkild Byg, the outgoing Head of the European Union (EU) Liaison Office in Erbil, on Saturday.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Barzani expressed his gratitude to the EU for its continuous support and assistance to the Kurdistan Region.
He particularly acknowledged the pivotal role played by the EU Liaison Office in Erbil in fostering and strengthening bilateral relations.
Byg, in turn, reaffirmed the EU's commitment to the Kurdistan Region and emphasized the continuation of their work and activities. He stressed the importance of further enhancing coordination and cooperation with the KRG.
The discussion also touched upon the upcoming Kurdistan Parliament elections. Both parties underlined the significance of international observers, especially from the EU, in ensuring a fair, transparent, and credible electoral process, free from any violations or manipulation.
