KRG, Iraqi Economic Councils reach agreement on salary payments, says KRG spox

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and the federal government of Iraq have reached an agreement on salary payments, according to a statement by KRG Spokesperson Peshwa Hawramani on Monday. Following discussions between the Economic Councils of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, it was agreed that the federal government would begin sending salaries to the region on a monthly basis.
The KRG, in turn, committed to addressing any remaining technical issues related to salary disbursement by the New Year. According to Kurdistan24, the meeting between the councils concluded with both sides expressing mutual understanding on a number of critical issues.
While the agreement on salary payments is a significant breakthrough, further discussions are expected to iron out remaining matters between the two governments. The collaboration aims to resolve long-standing financial and administrative concerns.
