German’s hope, with coalitions support, to prepare future military forces from Peshmerga

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – The Minister of Peshmerga Affairs, Shorsh Ismail, welcomed Colonel Lars Persikowsk, the Commander-in-Chief of the German Forces, on Monday, on the occasion of extending his farewell ending his duty in Kurdistan Region.

Depending on the official news section by the Ministry of Peshmerga, it was announced, in the session the Minister of Peshmerga Affairs highly clarified the security situation in the region, Iraq and Kurdistan, as well as the causes, obstacles and challenges experienced on the way of reforming process, were discussed.

Ismail thanked the German people and government for their support to the Kurdistan Peshmerga Forces through their advisors and diplomats, alongside the coalition forces supported Peshmerga forces.  

“The German advisors and diplomats in Kurdistan Region, played a significant role and cooperation with us, especially, in the reform process within the international coalitions remit” Mr. Ismail stated.

It was highlighted in the announcement that the Minister of Peshmerga Affairs stressed the need for a future plan having a joint collaboration between the Ministry of Peshmerga and the German military team in the Kurdistan Region.
After introducing Colonel Thomas, Colonel Lars reaffirmed his country's support to Peshmerga Forces of Kurdistan, and hoped more care to be given to the relationship between his country and the Kurdistan Peshmerga Forces.
