Iranian President Pezeshkian meets with top Kurdistan Region's officials

These meetings underscore Iran's ongoing efforts to enhance its diplomatic and economic ties with both the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – On Thursday morning, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian arrived at Erbil International Airport, where he was warmly welcomed by Kurdistan Region's President Nechirvan Barzani.

The visit is part of President Pezeshkian's broader diplomatic tour, which also includes meetings with key officials in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.

During his visit, President Pezeshkian is scheduled to hold separate meetings with key Kurdish leaders, including Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) President Masoud Barzani, Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani, and Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Masrour Barzani.

The talks are expected to focus on strengthening bilateral relations, with particular emphasis on trade, security, and regional cooperation.

President Pezeshkian’s visit to Erbil follows his arrival in Baghdad on Wednesday, where he met with Iraqi President Latif Rashid, Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, and other top Iraqi officials.

These meetings underscore Iran's ongoing efforts to enhance its diplomatic and economic ties with both Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
