Originally built in 1918 by the British, the Sara Building consists of two floors and eight rooms each. After years of neglect, the building was in dire need of restoration. Obed Mohammed, director of archeology in Kifri, explained that the building's restoration has been a significant achievement. "The Sara Building has been transformed into a thriving cultural center," he said. "It's a testament to the commitment of the KRG to preserving our region's rich heritage."
The building now houses the Kifri Archaeological Directorate, which showcases a fascinating collection of artifacts from the region. Visitors can explore the museum's exhibits and learn about the area's history.
