KDP Vice President calls for strong voter turnout in Duhok, emphasizes KDP's role in securing Kurdistan Region’s future

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Masrour Barzani, Vice President of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), addressed a gathering of investors and businessmen in Duhok on Saturday, urging them to support the party’s candidates in the upcoming Kurdistan Region Parliamentary elections. Barzani highlighted the significance of the elections, which he described as "decisive" for the future of the Kurdistan Region.

"I am pleased to be at your service today with the candidates of List 190 of the KDP for the Kurdistan Parliamentary elections," Barzani began, emphasizing the importance of the vote not only for the present but for generations to come.

Barzani underscored the challenging times the Kurdistan Region has faced, noting, “There have been many attempts to weaken the structure of the Kurdistan Region, but with the support of God and the resilience of the Kurdish people, we will overcome all crises.”

He went on to stress the importance of civic participation, particularly voting, in shaping the region’s future. “Elections are always decisive for any society and nation, but in this election, the timing and results are crucial for us. It is important for everyone to make decisions in the interest of their nation and the future of their children,” Barzani said.

Encouraging widespread voter turnout, he remarked, "The person who does not vote should be aware that others may vote in a way that might not reflect their interests. If you want results that please you, your relatives, and your neighbors, encourage them to go and vote. The election results should reflect the will of the Kurdish people."

Barzani also highlighted the KDP’s role as a unifying force in the Kurdistan Region, asserting the party’s inclusive nature. “The KDP has always been an umbrella for different ideas and opinions in Kurdistan. It has never compromised the rights of the Kurdish people and has achieved great successes in the past. We are confident that with the leadership we are proud of, the KDP will continue to achieve even greater victories.”

By addressing our internal challenges and resolving any shortcomings within our ranks, the KDP will not only emerge victorious but will achieve success in a manner that will astonish all adversaries.
