IHEC announced up until noonday preliminary results of Parliamentary General Elections

The general voting process for the sixth round of the Parliamentary General Elections in Kurdistan Region started from 07:00 a.m. (Kurdistan Region local time) on Sunday. Two million, 686 thousand and 578 voters are eligible to vote, divided all over the four constituencies of Erbil, Duhok, Sulaiman

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – According to the Independent High Election Commission (IHEC), the turnouts rate according to the constituencies are as follows: 

- Erbil Constituency: 34%

- Sulaimani Constituency: 29%

- Duhok Constituency: 31%

- Halabja constituency: 33%

The general voting process for the sixth round of the Parliamentary General Elections in Kurdistan Region started from 07:00 a.m. (Kurdistan Region local time) on Sunday. Two million, 686 thousand and 578 voters are eligible to vote, divided all over the four constituencies of Erbil, Duhok, Sulaimani and Halabja.

Total voters by constituency:

Erbil Constituency: 933.115 voters

Sulaimani Constituency: 1.008.412 voters

Duhok Constituency: 682.791 voters

Halabja Constituency: 59.300 voters

IHEC opened 1266 polling centers and 6318 stations for the Kurdistan Region’s parliamentary general election.  

Number of polling stations by constituency:

Erbil Constituency: 498 polling centers and 2213 polling stations

Sulaimani Constituency: 477 polling centers and 2373 polling stations

Duhok Constituency: 264 and 1596

Halabja constituency: 27 and 136

IHEC approved the names of 1.191 candidates for the sixth round of the Kurdistan Regional parliamentary general elections. 

Special voting was held on October 18th, with %97 turnout, the Iraqi Election Commission said.
