KDP President Masoud Barzani meets Iraqi Prime Minister in Erbil to discuss regional political developments

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) President Masoud Barzani welcomed Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani on Wednesday in Erbil’s Pirmam district, where the two leaders discussed political developments and the ongoing coordination between the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and the Iraqi federal government.
According to a statement from Barzani Headquarters, the meeting covered recent steps taken to improve relations between the KRG and Baghdad, with both leaders emphasizing the importance of constructive collaboration on issues facing the region. The dialogue also highlighted recent political shifts within Iraq and their implications for stability and development.
Prime Minister al-Sudani congratulated President Barzani on the successful conclusion of the recent Kurdistan Region parliamentary elections, expressing hope that regional parties will swiftly reach an agreement to form a new cabinet. Both leaders underscored the need for unity and cooperation to address shared challenges and promote stability across Iraq.
The Iraqi premier on Wednesday arrived in Erbil and was welcomed by Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani at Erbil International Airport. Later he met with Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani.
