ERBIL (Kurdistan24) - A memorial service for the late Kurdish studies pioneer Joyce Blau is scheduled to be held this evening at Paris' 10th arrondissement municipality, celebrating her significant contributions to Kurdish language and culture.
Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo, Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Representative to France Ali Dolamari, along with various French and Kurdish officials and members of the Kurdish diaspora, are expected to attend the ceremony.
Blau dedicated much of her life to the Kurdish Institute in Paris, making substantial contributions to Kurdish studies.
In recognition of her work, the KRG established a library bearing her name at Erbil Citadel last year, which she personally inaugurated before her passing.

Joyce Blau was a renowned French academic and Kurdish studies specialist who played a pivotal role in promoting Kurdish culture and language in the Western academic sphere.
